Ship’s Log: Entry No. 005 - New Tide Steeping in 2026
As the calendar turns and a new year takes shape, we find ourselves reflecting on just how meaningful these past few months have been. After only a short time in Saint John, Rising Tide Tea is no longer just arriving — we’re beginning to belong.
There’s something deeply grounding about starting fresh in a place so steeped in history. Long before we ever unpacked our first crate of tea, Saint John was already woven into Canada’s tea story. From this very harbour, Red Rose Tea once set sail to kitchens across the country, shaping generations of daily rituals and quiet moments shared over a cup.
That legacy matters to us.
Carrying the Past Forward
Rising Tide Tea was built on the belief that tea is never just tea. It’s culture. It’s conversation. It’s connection. And being here — in the birthplace of Canadian tea culture — carries both responsibility and inspiration.
We’re not here to replicate the past, but to honour it. To take what once flowed from this port and reinterpret it through a modern lens:
small-batch, artisan-crafted teas rooted in place, people, and purpose.
A New Chapter, Still Being Written
2026 is a year of wonderful possibility.
In the months ahead, we’re looking forward to:
Deepening partnerships with local cafés, restaurants, and boutiques
Growing our presence within the Saint John City Market and surrounding communities
Markets - Queens Square, Lovely Little, Cedarcrest Gardens and expanding our reach to other exciting Markets across the Maritimes
Collaborating with regional organizations and fellow makers across the Maritimes
Afternoon tea somewhere in the Saint John region
Expanding our collection of blends inspired by coastal life, shared tables, and Maritime resilience
Most importantly, we’re committed to being part of Saint John’s ongoing resurgence — contributing thoughtfully, supporting local, and growing with the city, not just within it.
More Than a Tea Company
We didn’t come East simply to open a business. We came to put down roots. To listen. To learn. To build something that reflects the rhythm of the tides and the warmth of the people who live by them.
If the first few months have taught us anything, it’s this: community here isn’t a buzzword — it’s a way of life. And we’re grateful every day for the kindness, curiosity, and encouragement we’ve received since arriving.
As we step into this new year, we do so with steady hands, open hearts, and kettles always at the ready.
Here’s to 2026 —
to shared cups, rising tides, and a future steeped in Maritime spirit.
The tide is turning. And we’re just getting started.
